The Davey PTO takes its power directly from the transmission and not from the truck's PTO.

This PTO was used to power the generator/welder on the M56 contact maintenance truck. Shown here is the rear driveshaft disconnect, and the transmission to CENTER OUTPUT Davey pto jack shaft. This center output also was used on the WC62/63 to drive the intermediate axle. With both front and rear drive shafts not connected, the parking brake was not usable and the truck's brakes were locked with Mico Locks.
